Liberty State Park | Jersey City, NJ

I’ve known Vanessa since Kindergarten — we became friends when we found out we shared the same birthday! — and was so honored she thought of me to take her engagement photos. Funny enough, she messaged me the same day she Johnny proposed! We met at Liberty State Park in Jersey City just before sunset for their session. With all the pretty golden light and the incredible view of the New York City skyline right at our fingertips, this has been my new favorite location to shoot at. You can’t beat the historic train station and skyline views! We had the most gorgeous light and perfect weather on what was almost a gloomy, rainy day. They were so great following all my silly prompts, laughing and dancing throughout their session. Vanessa and Johnny’s love for one another simply radiated through these photos!

The Proposal

Vanessa and Johnny went to high school together but never seemed to cross paths. They both went to Montclair State University, where their two friend groups began to mix, and their love story blossomed.

Over the past few months, she and Johnny have begun creating a home together in their hometown of Nutley. They are anxiously planning their 2022 wedding while hoping to avoid any interruptions due to COVID. Together, they love going to dinner and making each other laugh. They share a large, close-knit friend group, and their friends say they can’t imagine a better match than Vanessa and Johnny.

Vanessa and Johnny, I couldn’t have asked for a more easygoing couple to work with. Vanessa, having known you since we were little, I am so happy for you and cannot wait to see you and Johnny begin your lives together!
