I’m a wedding and portrait photographer based in northern New Jersey and serving the east coast and destinations. I provide my couples with a boutique experience that celebrates their one-of-a-kind love story. With a blend of artistry, passion, and an eye for detail, I strive to capture the essence of your special day in a way that is authentic, heartfelt, and timeless.
Zoey and Jeff’s wedding at Battello in Jersey City was a beautiful celebration set against the Manhattan skyline. On an incredibly hot summer day, they incorporated meaningful traditions and enjoyed a stunning waterfront setting. I had the privilege of second shooting this wedding for Lizzie Burger Photography.
Battello is a highly sought-after wedding venue in Jersey City, known for its waterfront views, industrial chic aesthetic, and exceptional cuisine. The combination of industrial elements, soft lighting, and breathtaking skyline views make it an ideal setting for couples who want a refined yet relaxed wedding day. Its prime location, just a short distance from New York City, adds to its appeal, making it a convenient and scenic venue for both local and out-of-town guests.
Zoey began her day getting ready in a hotel suite just across the street from Battello, surrounded by her bridesmaids. The convenience of the location made the transition to the venue seamless. Once she was ready, we walked over to Battello, where Jeff was waiting for their first look. This private moment allowed them to soak in the excitement of the day before the celebrations officially began.
Following their first look, we captured the majority of their portraits around Battello’s beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The floor-to-ceiling windows and warm wood tones inside the venue provided a perfect escape from the summer heat while still offering a bright and airy aesthetic. Outside, the waterfront promenade and skyline views created a stunning backdrop for their couple and bridal party portraits.
Before their wedding ceremony, Zoey and Jeff honored her heritage with a traditional Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony. This ritual, rich in cultural significance, involved the couple serving tea to their parents and extended family as a symbol of gratitude and respect. It was a touching and intimate moment that added a deeply personal touch to their wedding day.
Zoey and Jeff exchanged vows in Battello’s industrial-chic reception space, which features exposed beams and panoramic views of the Hudson River. The venue’s large windows flooded the space with natural light, creating a romantic and airy atmosphere for their ceremony. Afterward, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in Battello’s stylish dining and bar area while we took the couple outside for golden-hour portraits. The soft evening light and waterfront setting made for dreamy, romantic photos before they returned to continue the celebration!
Zoey and Jeff’s summer wedding at Battello was a beautiful blend of modern elegance and meaningful tradition. From the intimate tea ceremony to their golden-hour portraits along the water, every moment was a testament to their love story. It was an honor to capture this day as a second photographer, and I can’t wait to return to Battello for more incredible celebrations in the future!
