Pendry Natirar | Peapack-Gladstone, NJ
There are few New Jersey wedding venues that combine historic architecture and sweeping countryside quite like Pendry Natirar. Set among the rolling hills of Somerset County in Peapack-Gladstone, the property has historic architecture, beautiful interiors, and acres of grounds overlooking Natirar Park. There are so many different places to photograph without ever having to leave the property.
Daniella and Mike’s early June Pendry Natirar wedding was the perfect opportunity to photograph all of it. Despite a little rain earlier in the day, the skies cleared in time for an outdoor ceremony, leaving behind an overcast sky and soft light that made the estate feel especially beautiful.
Pendry Natirar Wedding Portraits
One of my favorite things about photographing weddings at Natirar is how different the property can look from one part of the day to the next.
We started portraits inside the mansion, and this might have been my favorite setting of the day. The dark woodwork and deep green walls are such a contrast to the rest of the property, especially with all of the florals surrounding the fireplace. I love a bright, beautiful outdoor portrait, but I also love when a venue gives us something with a little more depth and character to mix into the gallery.
Once the rain cleared, we headed outside for portraits overlooking Natirar Park. These views are probably what most people picture when they think of a Natirar wedding, and for good reason. There really isn’t much you need to do with a setting like this. The architecture and grounds already speak for themselves!
An Outdoor Ceremony at Pendry Natirar
Daniella and Mike held their ceremony outside overlooking Natirar Park. Their floral-covered arch was filled with soft blue, blush, and white flowers, with all of that early-summer greenery stretching out behind them.
And thankfully, the rain stayed away! The overcast skies gave us soft light throughout the ceremony while still being able to see all of the color and layers in the landscape behind them. From farther back, you really get a sense of just how much of the property surrounds the ceremony space.
Afterward, everyone headed up to the terrace for cocktail hour. I always love this part of a wedding day because the formalities slow down a little and everyone finally gets a chance to just enjoy being together. We snuck Daniella and Mike away for a few more portraits and then let them get back to their guests before the reception.
A Summer Reception at Natirar
Inside, the reception design continued the soft garden-inspired feeling of the day. Greenery, white and blush florals, warm wood tones, and candlelight filled the reception space, bringing the natural surroundings of Natirar indoors.
Later in the evening, Daniella and Mike assembled a traditional Italian Millefoglie cake together. Instead of simply cutting into a finished wedding cake, they layered it together in front of their guests (with a few bites along the way!). It was easily one of my favorite moments to photograph from the reception.
There is so much to work with at Natirar, and I think this wedding shows that especially well. The dark interiors of the mansion feel completely different from the open landscape outside, and then the property changes all over again once everyone moves into the reception. More importantly, all of that variety exists in one place, which means less time spent moving around and more time actually enjoying the wedding day.
As a New Jersey wedding photographer, Natirar is one of those venues I’m always excited to return to. There is something new to work with every time I’m there, and I’m already looking forward to the next one.
