Cheers to the newlyweds! Emily and Sheikh’s winter wedding day at The Briarcliff Manor was one for the books—perfectly sunny with a crisp March breeze. We started the morning at the hotel, where Emily got ready with her mom and best friend by her side, while Sheikh spent the morning with his Best Man. There was an easy excitement in the air as we captured details and portraits before heading downstairs for Emily’s first look with her dad.
Her dad’s reaction was everything—teary-eyed and emotional as he saw his little girl in her wedding dress. Emily wore a stunning ivory couture strapless A-line gown by Maggie Sottero and looked absolutely breathtaking. After a sweet moment together, she handed him a card, which brought on even more happy tears. Then, it was time for her to hop into a vintage Rolls Royce and head to The Briarcliff Manor to meet Sheikh for their first look.
Nestled in Westchester County, The Briarcliff Manor is a historic estate with classic elegance and beautiful grounds—an ideal setting for a winter wedding day. Emily and Sheikh shared their first look outside, taking a quiet moment together before we explored the estate for portraits. They read heartfelt cards to each other, soaking in the moment before the whirlwind of the day truly began.
As the sun started to set, the temperature dropped quickly, so we wrapped up portraits and headed inside for the ceremony.
Their ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with a beautifully told love story from the officiant (you can read more about their journey in their engagement session blog post). The most touching part? Emily and Sheikh wrote their own vows, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room as they shared what they love most about each other and their promises for the future. After exchanging rings and sealing it all with a kiss, it was time to celebrate!
Since Emily and Sheikh met through ballroom dancing at NYU, it was only fitting that their first dance was spectacular. They had all their guests on their feet, cheering and clapping as they effortlessly glided across the dance floor—it was the perfect way to kick off the reception.
After a few dance sets, it was time for toasts from Emily’s Maid of Honor, her dad, and two close friends, mixing heartfelt words with plenty of laughter. One of the sweetest moments of the night was an impromptu dance between Emily and her grandfather—so spontaneous and fun. She then shared a dance with her dad and mom before the DJ officially opened the dance floor for the rest of the night. From that moment on, it was nonstop celebrating!
Emily and Sheikh’s wedding was such a beautiful reflection of them—elegant yet relaxed, deeply personal, and filled with so much love. It was an absolute joy to capture their day, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for them!
